Watching Firefly again

I am sitting back watching Firefly since I have some down time in between some of the new shows trickling in at this point… I don’t know why the show appeals to me so much… I guess the semi lack of technology and the whole roving space thing does…

I’m digging it even more than the first couple of times…

We were watching 2 guys a Girl and a Pizza Place, good show, had both Ryan Reynolds and Nathan Fillion… So it’s freakin hilarious…

That is the sound of me eating the Cookies promised to me by the dark side… I drank the Kool Aid… I got the wife and I subscriptions to WoW….

I’m diggin it, the colors are too bright, and odd, un-natural for my taste… But I like it as a game…

Been messing around on the server my buddy plays, and kinda diggin my Hunter… It’s pretty fun, quicker to get in an up an running than I thought it would be… Already got a UI, learning the game in leaps and bounds… Seems to be fairly simple compared to EQ…

My buddy keeps raggin on me about EQ having shitty Graphics compared to WoW, which it really isn’t the graphics, it’s just the colors… TOTALLY the colors… I like muted earthy colors, like colors you would see in nature, not bright green zombies in a gray valley….

ANYWAYS… Seems most of my friends I know, play on PvP Servers, which is not really my thing… BUT You can make toons on so many servers so woot LOL

Star Trek Online

I have been talking about STO for a while, and been playing for about a month now…

So what do I think…

Well, The combat on the ground is Fun, it can be challenging depending on your own personal play style or strategy…  Yes, most of it is simple button mashing, and yeah, I am sure you could play the game with a joypad (Trust me, I will try that eventually). The ground combat so far (I am only LC 8) has been entertaining and while isn’t my end all favorite part of the game, it is a close call. The ground combat graphics are enjoyable, while there are bugs here and there, it’s quite playable, and the worlds, while not HUGE in size, or even the indoor maps, are fun as heck..

I reconnected with a very good friend recently and found out they are playing the game as well, which is awesomesauce… (more on that later) But grouping with someone is fun, and adds to the chaos and enjoyment… I play with the wife frequently and while I am a tad higher than she is, it’s been a blast…

The space combat… now here is my favorite part of the game… While the death penalty is minor, it can lead to quite the frustration, but if you master your basic strategy in ship, you can take on quite a fleet :>

That IS what it all comes down to is, well spent money…

The graphics can seriously strain your card, if you own an 8800 series Geforce, you definately wanna make sure you have lots of ventalation and turn your fans to max before you load in, AND type in /maxfps 35 or whatever… Well that is what *I* do… It seems to heat that series up quite a bit, but no one is talking on Cryptics end as to if they KNOW why or if they CAN fix it, as the problem is also in Champions Online… Which uses the same engine (well STO uses CO’s Engine :>)

What I’ve been doing lately :>

First of all, The wife and I are now lifetime Star Trek Online subscribers… So far, I love it, and I know with the history and being able to just chill in the game, I KNOW I will be playing it for a long long time to come… I have 3 toons so far, but gonna make one over I think…

LOST…

Just watched the season premiere last night, and… Nice, well worth the wait…

Spoilers and my personal Theory Follows:

I think the jumping back and forth between the flight/after flight and the bomb exploding/time jumping, is two separate time lines… Both exist, but both are alternate realities from each other…

I think this will lead to something in the flight timeline, as everyone will eventually meet and be inter-weaved… Maybe them needing to do something to prevent the smoke monster from leaving the island that doesn’t really exist above water in that reality…

Or, it could just be showing how they all are chosen somehow by fate to know each other…

But yeah, I got into it, I think they did several things that cleared up issues… and created some… Where is Jack’s dad’s body? Why did John’s knives go missing… Why did Hurley Lie? John’s lie was rather obvious, he lied before I believe about the excursion. Thing is, I think we cleared up the whole who is showing up as dead people issue… But who showed up as who, I mean could Jacob show up as people before he died? And the smoke monster, if he’s been John for so long… Is that why he tricked Ben?

BUT, now we know WHO the smoke monster is… or a better idea WHAT it is…

Personally, one of the treats was 2 Heroes cast members showing up… Made me chuckle…

Back to STO… My main toon right now is a Liberated Borg :> WHICH is one of the perks of being a lifetime subscriber :>soon I will take some Screenies and make a new backdrop to this blog, but first :> I need to get some time :>

24, Chuck, and SG-1

Been watching a lot of T.V. lately, mostly SG-1… Richard Dean Anderson cracks me up, half the reason I watch it is to see what he’s gonna do next .

So far, I am up to season 5… Great show, but I digress.. CHUCK! CHUCK STARTED! They have done some great things with this show, I LOVE this show…

Oh yeah, Star Trek ONLINE… oh my holy hell is it fun, I haven’t been so addicted to a game in years… I love it :>

2 Days in…

DO WANT… AM GETTING…

It’s amazing, I mean the flight is simple to get a grip on, gonna be hard to MASTER, but it is nice. The ground combat is quick, as it should be, and involves a lot of planning and strategy…

Productive Day (Is it tuesday yet?)

Well, today I got up early, went to staples, best buy, staples, CVS, Home… Picked up a fan for my computer (80mm fan went out on the rear of my case, well ok not OUT, but it was being really REALLY loud, so I replaced it… Also had to pick up 2 parts for a computer I was fixing for a friend, had to replace the power supply out of their case, but the power supply I had on hand only had ONE 4 pin molex for the HD, so I needed some y’s for the cd-rom which yay it all worked out…

So THAT is all fixed, and tomorrow the wife’s computer will be in tomorrow so yaay :> Gonna take her old machine, put my 2 hard drives in it, and use it as a media server, and then moving some of the files to my USB drive so I can drop it in the bedroom for the lappy for bed…

Indeed, this has been a good day, in addition to that, I am watching Big Love, almost done with season 2… Which is cool, it’s a very different show, even the wife has been hooked, even flew past me in the viewing and already finished season 4 :>. The show itself is interesting because while I am not mormon, or believe in their beliefs etc etc, it’s cool to see the conviction he has, it’s hard to articulate, but safe to say, I think it’s cool to see someone if only portrayed on TV with that much faith in something THAT controversial, not to mention showing all the difficulties associated with the whole poly lifestyle :>

Cool show… Also watchin SG-1, never watched when it was on, but, its pretty cool…

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we went and got our preorder for Star Trek: Online SE…  SO Come on Tuesday!

LOTRO

So, The wife and I got sucked back into LOTRO… They had a free trial, and we got hooked…

Granted it’s 60 bucks every 3 months, but… THAT is half of what I was tossing SOE every freakin month… But I like it, and so does the wife, and I am tryin to get some friends of mine hooked on it too, its fun… Alot more casual than what I was playing before… Funny thing is, our guild is still there, so YAY for that LOL

What the hell… It’s such a simplistic game, stupid at its core, and I cant get enough of it…

It’s like… crack, without the nose bleeds or hollowed out carrots, or broken light bulbs, you get the idea…

So yeah, i’m addicted… I also play YoVille… Sadly, my friend is beating me on it… well, they are a higher level… there is no winning or losing in these games… just… more sadness, It’s like WoW, with less flashy graphics…

End of an Era…

Sadly I am going with more of a whimper than a bang LOL

I am talking about me quitting SWG and EQ2

Not really had the time for it, and been playing Rock Band with friends more… So kinda silly to pay for a non played game…

I am going to pack all my crap up and just go dormant tho… nothing to look at… nothing to annoy the landscape with… just me gone from the game :> kinda how I like it…

I am gonna miss it, but.. I have other things I need to tend to, like getting out of the house more… I dunno I am such a homebody now… I hate going out, I love having peeps in, but that is me… I am comfortable in the apt, I don’t like to go to peeps houses where they are heavy smokers or have dogs or whatnot, mostly cause it bugs my allergies so much I end up feeling like shit for a week or two after i go…

SOOoooo… I am gonna keep my current layout, with my pic of me… Mostly cause that was the game I probably played most…
